Every Certified Futures and Options Analyst holds a digitally issued certificate with its own unique verification link. Anyone can confirm that a certification is genuine, in seconds, at no cost.
CFOA certifications are issued through Certifier, an independent third-party credentialing platform. Each certificate carries a unique verification link and QR code that confirm the holder's name, the certification, and the issue date directly from Certifier's records. To verify someone's CFOA, ask them for the verification link on their certificate.
A verified CFOA certificate confirms that the holder has passed the 100-question proctored CFOA examination and holds a genuine certification issued by the ICFDT. The CFOA is a lifetime designation, so a verified certificate remains valid unless withdrawn through the Professional Conduct procedure.
If an individual claims to hold the CFOA but cannot produce a Certifier verification link or QR code for their certificate, treat the claim as unconfirmed. Suspected misrepresentation of the CFOA designation can be reported to conduct@icfdt.com.
The certificant's Certifier verification link is sufficient for personnel files and designation-approval processes; it is the authoritative, real-time record of a certificate's authenticity. If you need written confirmation of a certificant's status and cannot obtain their link directly, email registry@icfdt.com with the individual's name and any details you have.
Certification is for life and verification is always free. CFOA holders who want an ongoing professional presence can join the annual CFOA membership, which adds a public professional profile, listing in the members directory, and a suite of continuing benefits on top of the base certification.
