We are beyond excited to introduce AntiMatter DAO, a club for derivatives fanatics and a collaborative workplace for innovative on-chain derivatives applications, with features including on-chain governance, multi-party treasury management, academic resources sharing and new model experiments.
Upon its establishment, AntiMatter DAO has welcomed the joining of a number of pioneering practitioners in financial derivatives.
Among them are Tekin Salimi, the general partner of Polychain Capital and a strong believer and advocate of decentralized autonomous organization, or DAO. Salimi believes that the continued use of DAOs is of the utmost importance to the next evolution of the blockchain industry.
Do Kwon, the co-founder and CEO of Terraform Labs, the company behind the Terra Blockchain. Terra strives to use blockchain technology to develop a more efficient payment system.
Justin Sun, the founder of Tron Foundation, an ambitious project dedicated to building the infrastructure for a truly decentralized Internet.
Brian Lee, partner at Alameda Research Ventures, a quantitative trading firm bringing expertise from Wall Street and Silicon Valley to provide liquidity in crypto markets worldwide.
We believe their knowledge and experience will take the decentralized finance (DeFi) derivatives space to the next level. At AntiMatter DAO, the sky’s the limit.
Why we created AntiMatter DAO
When AntiMatter was founded in early 2021, our primary goal was to build innovative models to revolutionize derivatives in decentralized finance. Inspired by Uniswap, AntiMatter abandoned the traditional order book and oracle-based model and embarked on the adventure of exploring the ways to revolutionize the derivatives market. The Black-Schole model did the same for traditional derivatives, and now we are focusing on DeFi.
Over the past few months, we have been working actively with people with various academic backgrounds to build AntiMatter’s first original perpetual option model. They include mathematics, economics and finance PhDs and professors from the United States, the United Kingdom and China. Without this interdisciplinary and international team, AntiMatter wouldn’t have been born. Throughout this journey, we experienced first-hand the need to create a DAO for decentralized derivatives due to the following findings:
- Academia is interested in exploring new derivative models;
- The growth of DeFi needs new innovations that are not a simple copy of other protocol;
- The DeFi new models need the knowledge base of traditional finance;
- There is currently no environment for communication and discussion of new models.
In short, AntiMatter DAO is a place where academia and enthusiasts alike can exchange opinions and experiment together, with the single unified goal: to push the development of derivatives in DeFi.
