Verify a charter

In line with standard practice for professional credential verification, the registry operates as a lookup service: records are returned against a specific name or charter number rather than as a browsable directory.
What an active charter certifies
An Active status confirms the individual has passed the 200-question proctored CFIA examination, holds a current annual charter, is meeting the continuing professional development requirement (20 hours per year, verified at each three-year renewal), and is bound by the ICFDT Code of Professional Conduct.
Lapsed indicates a charter not renewed by its anniversary date; the individual may not use the CFIA marks until reinstated. Suspended indicates that the charter has been suspended for a defined period following a disciplinary finding or pending remedial action. Revoked indicates removal of the charter following a disciplinary finding under the Professional Conduct procedure; revocations are permanent unless overturned on appeal.
Verification for employers and compliance teams
This page is the authoritative record of CFIA charter status. For written confirmation of an individual's status (for personnel files or designation-approval processes), email registry@icfdt.com with the individual's name and charter number; written verifications are returned within five business days at no charge.
